Weekly Update, April 24th, 2026
Hi Church,
Visitors often comment positively on our building's appearance. We know that does not just happen; it requires the work of many people! This Saturday, we have our big Spring Workday to help beautify our place. Our Building and Grounds team has drafted an excellent list of chores (see below). Let us be good stewards of our property so that God can use it to welcome church visitors and as we host various events involving our community and other churches.
Also, just a reminder about our vote this Sunday regarding Elaine Bachhuber as our Interim Children's Ministry Director. After the 11am worship service ends, we will take about 5 minutes for a members-only vote. The votes will be counted and announced to those still present and to the whole church via email.
Ladies’ Tea
Next Saturday! Join us May 2nd for our annual Women’s Tea! This year we will be hosting an afternoon tea with delicate finger foods, delicious sweets, and classic savory staples, all while enjoying some fellowship with one another! Ages elementary and up are welcome. The tea will be in the Multipurpose room from 3-5pm. Please sign up in the church app or at the Connect Center.
Church Workday
We would love your assistance for our Church Workday tomorrow from 9am-12pm! We are seeking volunteers with specific skills to help with a variety of projects around the property, including repairing a leaking windowsill, spraying pesticide, washing the church bus, and completing door repairs such as replacing door closers, installing new door stoppers and seals, and painting an exterior door. Additional tasks include cutting down a tree, cleaning classrooms, replacing commercial light bulbs, cleaning the baptism, removing sticks in stormwater management areas, as well as assisting with setting up for the lunch that will be provided. Your time and talents would be greatly appreciated as we work together to care for and improve our shared space.
One Body, Many Gifts: A Weems Creek Showcase
“One Body, Many Gifts” is a celebration of the unique talents and abilities within our church family! Whether you love to sing, bake, crochet, or paint — whether you have amazing dance moves or excel in athletics — we want to highlight the many ways God has gifted each of us. It could be a live performance, a sweet treat to sample, a video clip to watch, an artifact to display, or something else unique! Everyone has many gifts and we want to highlight as many as possible, young and old! To participate, you must sign up by Wednesday, May 6th. Please sign up in the church app or at the Connect Center.
Everyone, please join us on Saturday, May 16th from 2-4pm as we celebrate these gifts! Displays and performances will be in the multipurpose room.
