Thanks for stopping by!

We’re glad you’re here and hope to see you at one of our Sunday morning services. Our services aren’t just something we attend or do though. We aren’t just a building or an event. We are a people, the body of Christ, sinners saved by grace. That’s right. Our church is full of imperfect people, but have found new life through Jesus Christ!

We are also a people committed to one vision: We are a multigenerational church committed to authentic, healthy relationships that connect people to God and each other. We invite you to come see what we are all about and to join us in this vision!

Our Vision

We are a multigenerational church committed to authentic, healthy relationships that connect people with God and each other.

What We Believe

Weems Creek Church is committed to the teaching of the Bible for both our theological understanding and how we live our lives. We welcome all who desire to worship Jesus with us. As we come together for worship, discipleship, and mission, the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message form the essence of our belief and practice.

We welcome all who desire to worship Jesus with us. As we come together for worship, discipleship and community, here are a set of beliefs that form the essence of our faith and practice.

Scripture

We believe the Scripture, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original autographs, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of all people, the divine and final authority for the Christian life and faith.

Godhead

We believe in the triune God, one substance, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God the father

We believe in God the Father, Creator of all things visible and invisible, who is true holiness, all powerful, infinite love and absolute truth.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, atoning death, bodily resurrection and ascension. We eagerly await His bodily return.

Holy Spirit

We believe that all people are created in the image of God. Through the fall of Adam and Eve, we were separated from God. We remain in that state until the moment of regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Only through the work of the Holy Spirit can this eternal life be received.

Salvation

We believe that God, in His great love for all people provided the ultimate sacrifice for sin in His Son, Jesus Christ. Only through His shed blood and resurrection are there any grounds for justification and reconciliation to God. Salvation is, therefore, received as a free gift by faith.

In essential beliefs -- We have unity

There is one body and one spirit…one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all… (Ephesians 4:4-6)

In non-essential beliefs -- We have liberty

Accept him whose faith is weak; without passing judgement on disputable matters…Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls…So then each of us will give an account of himself to God…So whatever you believe about these things keep them between yourself and God. (Romans 14: 1, 4, 12, 22)

In all our beliefs -- We show clarity

"And hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but the very secrets of God, and if I have the absolute faith which can move mountains – but have no love, I amount to nothing at all." (I Corinthians 13:2)

Our Core Values

Live Biblically

We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word, the final authority for faith and practice. It is God's revelation of Himself and His ways to us. It teaches how to know Him, what to believe and how to live. The Bible is relevant to the needs of all people at all times and to the specific problems of contemporary living. Therefore, we are committed to equipping Christians, through the preaching and teaching of God's Word, to follow Christ in every sphere of life.

Worship Authentically

We believe authentic worship is God-centered and life transforming. It fuels the fire of devotion in the heart, facilitates constant renewal, and motivates believers to sacrificial service. Both corporate and individual worship are vital to spiritual health. We also believe genuine worship is a strong witness to unbelievers. Therefore, we give priority to planning and facilitating Spirit-led worship of the one true God.

Grow Spiritually

We believe it is God's will that every believer grow to maturity in Christ. Therefore, we provide ongoing opportunities for spiritual growth and equipping for service. We believe the family is God's primary unit for ministry. Therefore, we seek to provide an atmosphere, which strengthens marriages and families. We are committed to vibrant youth and children's ministries. We believe God has called us to live out His command to 'love one another' (John 13:34). Therefore we stress healthy, loving relationships that build up and encourage believers, empower our witness to the world, and make serving together a joy.

Share Courageously

We believe God has called us to give priority to His command to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20), and to our role as His witnesses (Acts 1:8). Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. He loves them and calls us to do the same. Therefore, we seek to be effective locally and involved worldwide. We will focus on leading people to Christ…one life at a time.

Pray Faithfully

We believe in encouraging a prayer-guided faith that is willing to take bold risks. God has called us to be a people of prayer. He has revealed Himself as the God who hears and answers prayer (Matthew 7:7-11). Therefore, our ministries and activities will be characterized by a reliance on prayer combined with faith and obedience (Hebrews 11:6).

Serve Passionately

God calls us to demonstrate the attitude of Jesus who came 'not to be served, but to serve' (Matthew 20:28; Philippians 2:5-8). Therefore we seek to develop our God-given gifts and talents for service to Christ and His church (1 Peter 4:10). We also believe in manifesting the love and grace of God in practical ways in the community and throughout the world.
