Weekly Update, May 9th, 2025
Hi Church,
I wanted to give an important update on the Associate Pastor search. Over the next week and a half, the team will bring in 2 candidates, both of whom have excellent experience and unique strengths. We are praying that the Lord will make his will known to our search team and the particular candidate. If that works out, we hope to bring back the final candidate to meet the entire church at a later time and vote upon his candidacy. Please join us in seeking the Lord during this important time in the life of our church.
Evangelism Workshop
Join us next Sunday evening, May 18 at 6pm for our Evangelism Workshop. This seminar will cover topics such as: What is evangelism? What is the gospel? Who is called to share? And practical ways to enter gospel conversations with friends, family, and even strangers. We will meet in the multipurpose room. Weems Creek Apparel
Weems Creek Apparel is back! There are t-shirts, long sleeve tees, sweatshirts, hoodies, polos, jackets, and hats in adult and kids’ sizes. There’s something for everyone! This is a great way to share Weems Creek Church with anyone you walk past. The store link will be open through Sunday, May 18. All items will be delivered to the church and then distributed. Campfire & Calling: A Night of Fellowship and Worship
Join us for a night of worship around the firepit with an international focus. We will worship in song, hear testimonies from international mission trips, and there will be ice cream for purchase from a New Zealand ice cream truck! You can read more about this company and their ice cream here. They will also donate a portion of proceeds to our upcoming mission trips. Bring a chair or blanket and join us around the fire pit!
SonShiners Sightseeing Cruise
The SonShiners (55+) will cruise through the Kent Narrows and surrounding waterways on June 7. Tickets are $31.50 per person. You must sign up and pay by this Sunday. The bus will leave church at 10am. The tour is from 11am-12:30pm. We will eat lunch at Bridges Restaurant before returning to church around 3pm. Please sign up at the Connect Center.
SonShiners Potluck
The SonShiners (55+) will be having a potluck on May 15, 12pm, at the church. The church will supply hamburgers, hot dogs, condiments, and beverages. Please bring a side dish to share. Sign up at the Connect Center.
Business Meeting
There will be a business meeting on Wednesday, May 21 at 6pm in the worship center. We will vote on a facility use request from a homeschool co-op, as well as review monthly, membership, and financial reports. We will finish in time for parents to attend the Awana closing program.
Annie Armstrong
Thank you for your generous donations to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Our total was $12,412. If you would still like to give, donations are accepted year-round.
