Weekly Update, June 12th, 2026
Hi Church,
I recently received statistics from our denomination's International Mission Board about its annual impact. We sustained over 3,500 missionaries across 150 countries. From their labors, over 2 million people heard the gospel, resulting in almost 200,000 new believers and 30,000 baptisms. Over 7,600 new churches were planted and over 29,000 leaders were trained in church planting. Praise God for his work through these missionaries as well as those who went on mission trips to support them. Let's keep praying and giving toward the goal of making disciples of ALL nations!
Greece Mission Trip
This September (22nd – 29th), we are planning to send a team to Patras, Greece to work with the local church and minister to refugees. This is an opportunity to minister to those in need, encourage fellow believers and share the Gospel with those who have no hope. We have room for 2-5 more people to serve on the team. The cost is approximately $2,500 per person. The deadline to commit is this Monday, June 15. Please contact Pastor Scott at scott@weemscreek.com for more information.
Germany Mission Trip
This summer, we are sending a team of seven people to serve at an English Camp in Wölmersen Germany. We invite the Weems Creek family to join this mission in two ways:
Please pray for our team as they prepare for the trip. Pray for the volunteers who will be serving alongside them. And pray that those who do not yet know Christ will be drawn to a saving relationship with Jesus.
Prayerfully consider supporting the team financially. Your generosity helps make it possible for our team to serve and share the Gospel with students who may never have heard it clearly before.
Vacation Bible School Snacks & Shirts
Looking for a way to be part of VBS, even if you’re not serving during the week? Here are two wonderful opportunities!
We are seeking donations for “Illumination Station Neon Snacks” for the week of VBS. There are paper lightbulbs hanging in the atrium, near the steps, with the items we need for the exciting treats the kids will enjoy. Please put your donated items in the boxes below the table by 6/21, next Sunday.
Our VBS volunteers give so much of their time, energy, and love to make VBS a memorable experience for our children. To help encourage and refresh them throughout the week, we’re providing a “Volunteer Lounge” stocked with sweet and salty treats. Would you consider helping bless these amazing volunteers by providing a snack? These snacks can also be placed under the snack signup table. We are grateful for your generosity and support!
VBS t-shirts will be available Sunday in the atrium. They are $12 for kids and adult sizes. Grab yours and be ready to shine at “Illumination Station”!
USA World Cup Watch Party
You don't have to be a soccer expert to enjoy the excitement of the World Cup! Join us on Friday, June 19, from 2:30-5pm, in the Multipurpose Room as we cheer on Team USA in their match against Australia. We'll have hamburgers, hot dogs, and a few Australian-inspired treats to enjoy during the game. Whether you're a lifelong soccer fan or just looking for a fun afternoon with friends, this is a great opportunity to gather, connect, and enjoy the excitement together. Bring a friend and come be part of the fun as we watch the USA take on Australia! Sign up in the church app or at the Connect Center.
Legacy Five Concert
It’s almost here! Dove Award–winning Legacy Five is coming to Weems Creek Church!
Join us for an unforgettable evening of encouragement and exceptional music as Legacy Five takes the stage on Saturday, June 20 at 6pm. Tickets are $25 in advance ($30 at the door) and can be purchased in the church app or at the Connect Center.
Orioles Faith Night
Our next church-wide fellowship is the Orioles Faith Night on Thursday, July 9th! The game starts at 6:35pm and is against the Chicago Cubs. After the game, some players will share their testimonies and there will be a postgame Christian concert, all included with the ticket price. We have seats reserved in section 346 which is covered and between home plate and third base. Tickets are $24 and must be purchased by June 28. Please sign up in the church app or at the Connect Center. We will be taking the minibus but it will be a long walk between the bus and gate so it may not be a good option for those with mobility or respiratory issues.
Moms Prayer Group
Moms summer prayer group starts now! All ladies are invited to join in praying for our children each Sunday at 5pm in the Student Ministry room. Please see Angela Sims or Amy Grigg for more information.
Student Pool Party
Congrats! You made it through the year (well… almost!) and summer is here! Let’s celebrate with a pool party to cool off and enjoy some burgers and dogs together. Join us on Saturday, June 20 from 2-6pm at the Hallmark’s home in Arnold. Bring a friend and don’t forget your towel! Sign up in the church app.
Vacation Bible School Registration
Illumination Station is just 2 weeks away! Please register your children for Vacation Bible School. This helps us be prepared. VBS 2026 Illumination Station will be Sunday June 28th through Thursday July 2nd from 6-8:30pm for children who have completed PreK 4 – 6th grade. Please register your children in the church app or at https://www.weemscreek.com/vbs2026. If you are a volunteer who hasn’t registered, please do that using the same links.
Baby Bottle Campaign
Once again, we will be filling baby bottles with money to support Wellspring Life Ministry.
Pick up your baby bottle(s) at the Connect Center. Bottles can be returned to the Connect Center any time between now and Father’s Day (next Sunday).
