Weekly Update, March 6th, 2026

Hi Church,

Hope to see everyone on Sunday. As a reminder, set your clocks forward one hour this weekend due to the time change. Otherwise, we will see you earlier than you expected! This Sunday, we'll continue the sermon series on James and discuss prayer and healing. 

Easter Egg Hunt Volunteers

Our annual community Easter Egg Hunt will be March 28th from 2-3:30pm. We need volunteers to help with set-up, registration, games & activities, face painting, food distribution, and clean-up. Join us in providing a fun Easter event for children and reaching our neighbors to share the true meaning of Easter. Please sign up in the church app or at the Connect Center.

Book for the Protestants & Catholics Class

If you signed up last Sunday night for The Unfinished Reformation book, they will be available at the Connect Center on Sunday or at class Sunday night.

Prayer Meeting

The importance of corporate prayer cannot be overstated. In the book of Acts, the early church regularly prayed together, and their example set a model for all churches. Acts 1:14 says, "All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer." Join us Sunday mornings at 9am in room 105, downstairs.

Stand for Life

We will be participating in the March for Life on March 16th. It begins at St. Mary’s Church at 6:30pm and ends with a rally at Lawyer’s Mall at 7:00pm. If you have questions, please reach out to Pastor Scott at scott@weemscreek.com or call the church office.

Men’s Retreat

This year’s Men’s Retreat, Strengthened Together, will be a one-day event at Downs Park on April 11 from 10am-4pm. It will include fellowship, activities, lunch, and two teaching sessions led by Pastor Dan Hyun from the BCMD.

Session 1: Men anointed for greatness don’t make it alone. Friends strengthen our relationship with God and help shape us into the men He calls us to be.

Session 2: Spiritual maturity for men comes through intentionally pursuing Jesus together and becoming a healing brotherhood that points one another to God’s presence.

Cost is $40 but we never want that to prevent someone from attending. If finances are a concern, the Men’s Ministry would be glad to help support you. Please register in the church app where you can also pay, or sign up at the Connect Center.

Students & Families Worship Night

Middle and High School Students and their families are invited to join Weems Creek Student Ministry for an evening of praise, prayer, and fellowship (with a little bit of ice cream)! Corporate worship is a beautiful way to come together as a church and give glory to God. We look forward to a night where families can reflect, glorify, and enjoy our great God with both their home AND church families! We’ll meet in the multipurpose room on Saturday, March 21 from 6-8pm. Vacation Bible School

Do YOU want to be part of the most impactful week of Kids Ministry of the entire year??? Culture claims to know about Jesus, but many people are in the dark about who He really is. This summer, VBS will shine a light on the truth of who He really is. Kids will explore all the ways light brightens, illuminates, reflects, and reveals while discovering that Jesus is the light who brings hope to a dark world!

VBS 2026 Illumination Station will be Sunday June 28th through Thursday July 2nd from 6-8:30pm! There are many ways for you to serve, from helping with snacks, to leading a Bible study group, or even to “light the way” as this year’s Director! Please sign up to volunteer at the VBS registration table in the atrium this Sunday or reach out to Melissa Gardner at melissa@weemscreek.com.

Prayer for Revival

Join us this Thursday, March 12th at 11am in the Student Room as we pray for God to bring true revival to our church, community, and nation.

Business Meeting

Our next business meeting will be on Wednesday, March 18 at 6pm in room 102 (next to the church office). We’ll vote in new members, review financial reports, and hear ministry updates. We will also vote on a recommendation from the finance committee.

Sunday Worship Reminder

As a reminder, when we gather for worship on Sunday morning, we ask that you refrain from distracting conversations as well as leaving your seat unless necessary. We want to foster a setting where everyone can focus on worshipping God and hearing his word. By doing so, we truly love our neighbor as ourselves and welcome new people.
