Weekly Update, August 29th, 2025
Hi Church,
As August and the summer days wrap up, we're excited about the new season at WCC. If you have not done so already, we encourage you to connect deeper with others through our small group times, either our Sunday morning or Wednesday night Bible study groups. These times are great opportunities to learn Scripture and grow from the insights and examples of others! Please read below about the Wednesday night lineup that covers all ages. Also, we plan to offer LIFE Groups soon so be on the lookout for them.
Mid-week Bible Studies and Activities
Women’s Bible Study – An unseen conflict is constantly happening around you. A cunning, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you. In Ephesians 6:10-19, the apostle Paul teaches us how to “put on the full armor of God.” This scripture will be examined using Priscilla Shirer’s study book, The Armor of God. This is more than just a description of a believer’s inventory. It is an action plan for putting on your armor and developing a personalized strategy to secure victory against the enemy. Come and join one of our three women’s Bible studies this fall:
- Tuesday mornings at 10:00am (begins 9/9) - Register for Tuesday Mornings
- Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm (begins 9/10) - Register for Wednesday Evenings
- Saturday mornings at 9:30am (begins 9/13) - Register for Saturday Mornings
You may also sign up at the Connect Center or in the church app. Books are available at the Connect Center for $10 or they can be purchased when you register online.
Men’s Bible Study – The men will be studying the book of Romans on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm, led by B.J. Hallmark. They will meet in room 112, beginning Sept. 10. Because they are not purchasing books, there is no need to sign up.
Mixed Adult Study – We are excited to announce a new class designated to help parents and grandparents confidently answer your children’s questions about the Bible and Christianity. Gospel-Centered Parenting: Biblical Wisdom for Kids’ Toughest Questions will begin Sept. 10 at 6:30pm in room 102 (next to the church office), and will equip you with the tools to address those challenging questions your children might have. Pastor Scott will guide the class through the Bible, using questions submitted by your children as a starting point, to explore how to provide thoughtful and biblical answers. If you would like to submit a question your child has about God, faith, or the Bible you can email the question(s) to Pastor Scott at scott@weemscreek.com. Please register using this link Gospel Centered Parenting: Biblical Wisdom for Kids' Toughest Questions. You can also sign up in the church app or at the Connect Center.
AWANA – For children 3yrs old – 5th grade. They meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm-8pm beginning Sept. 10. Please register your child using this link AWANA Registration or visit our website at www.weemscreek.com/awana.
Student Ministry – For students in 6th-12th grades. They meet on Wednesday nights from 6pm-8pm.

Next Level Class
To grow as a Christian, it is crucial to develop the spiritual disciplines of Bible reading and prayer. This class will discuss these disciplines and implement them by reading through Psalm 23, the Gospel of Luke, and Romans together as a class. Also, we will read a short book about essential Christian beliefs. We need to know the foundational truths of the faith. You can sign up for the class and the book ($10) using this link Next Level Class , in the church app or at the Connect Center. This class will meet on Sunday evenings for 8 weeks starting Sept. 21 at 6pm in the multipurpose room. Let’s go to the Next Level of discipleship!

Children’s Bibles
Weems Creek Children's Ministry has recently updated all of our classroom Bibles. We now have 20 gently used Children's Bibles to give away. If you know of a child who may not have a Bible at home or you would like to take one or two for your family, they will be at the Child Check-In Desk in the atrium for you to take. We pray these Bibles will be used to spread the Gospel in our community and to impact the lives of children for Christ.
Blessings!
Pastor Bryan
