Weekly Update, June 27th, 2025
Hi Church,
I'm grateful for another wonderful year of VBS that wrapped up last night! The program was well organized, and the workers loved the kids and taught them about Christ. Pray for the gospel seeds to take root in their hearts as well as others in their lives. This Sunday will be a time to invite all the families for our service. The kids will sing their theme song and I will preach from one of their passages where Jesus Calms the Storm. See you then.
VBS Celebration Volunteers Needed – This Sunday!
To have a successful outreach to the VBS families who don’t regularly attend church, we need volunteers to help set up (fill water buckets, set out water games, hook up hose to water slide, put out cones in the parking lot) and clean up the same. We also need someone to help at the Kona truck during the event (about 1 hour). If you can help, please contact Melissa Gardner (melissa@weemscreek.com).
Puerto Rico Mission Trip
Our church is sending 10 people to Puerto Rico for a mission trip on July 26-August 1st. Please pray for the team and their impact serving Christ. If you would like to support financially, you may donate by check (please write “Mission Trip” or “Puerto Rico” on the memo line) or online by choosing “Puerto Rico Mission Trip” in the drop-down menu.
Students – Chesapeake Baysox Game
Weems Creek Students are taking over the Chesapeake Baysox (well taking over a skybox, at least!) Students (grades 6-12) and their parents are welcome to join us July 9 as we take in the Baysox game together. Whether you like baseball, or you just want a fun, social environment, you are welcome to join us! RSVP to Pastor Alex and let him know if you have any questions.
SonShiners Trivial Pursuit & Lunch
Test your knowledge! The SonShiners will be playing Trivial Pursuit and having lunch on July 17 at noon in the multipurpose room. Expect good company, friendly competition, and lots of laughs! The church will provide pork barbecue and drinks. Please bring a side dish to share. Sign up at the Connect Center.

Prayer for Revival
Join us for an hour of prayer led by Monty Ahalt on Thursday, July 10 at 11am in room 112. We will pray for God to bring true revival to our nation, community, and church, as well as other needs.
Orioles Faith Night
Mark your calendars! Orioles Faith Night is Aug. 12 and starts at 6:35pm against the Seattle Mariners. The evening will consist of Orioles players’ testimonies and a postgame concert, all included with ticket price. Look for the signup in a couple weeks.
Bookshelves
The church has two bookshelves that need to be donated by next week. They are 6’ and 6 1/2’ high and 30”-32” wide. Both bookshelves are used but in decent condition. If you are interested, please contact the church office (office@weemscreek.com /410-266-5527) or see Tracey Hawkins on Sunday.
