Weekly Update, April 11th, 2025

Hi Church,

This month we are focusing on the Annie Armstrong Easter offering that supports missions in North America. There is a tremendous need to start new churches as our nation's general population is growing faster than the Christian population. It should be the other way around and in times past it was the case but no longer. Also, this offering supports other denominational outreach efforts like evangelism, compassion, and chaplain ministries. Our church offering goal is $22,000. Please pray about your gift to this offering.

Church Workday – Rain or Shine!

The church workday is tomorrow from 9am-Noon – rain or shine! There are inside and outside tasks – from moving mulch and picking up sticks to changing light bulbs & batteries, and cleaning. There’s a job for everyone! We are looking forward to this great time of fellowship, getting to know each other better and getting some work done around the church. Lunch will be provided.

The Case for the Resurrection

Pastor Bryan will lead a study on the Resurrection of Christ. It’s important to know why we believe what we believe. Join us this Sunday evening, 4/13 at 6pm in the multipurpose room. Please sign up at the Connect Center, in the church app, or using this link: The Case for the Resurrection

LIFE Groups

We are excited to start new Life Groups this month. LIFE groups are small group settings where you can grow deeper in your faith and also in your friendships with others. They are casual discussion groups relating to a given topic of study. The goal is to develop healthy relationships where you can be loved, encouraged, challenged, and motivated for life in Christ. The new studies will be The Real Heaven (Tuesdays, 6:30-8pm in Annapolis), The Art of Parenting (Mondays, 6:30-8pm in Arnold), and Apologetics (Mondays, 7-8:30pm in Annapolis). The Monday groups will begin on April 28 and the Tuesday group will begin on May 6. Each session will last 6 weeks. More information will be available in your worship guide this Sunday and at the Connect Center. You may sign up in the church app or at the Connect Center. Class size is limited.

Cooking with Jenny

The Women’s Ministry will be holding another Cooking with Jenny class on Tuesday, April 29 at 6:30pm. Jenny Francis, former caterer and an amazing cook, will lead us through directions for creating a one-dish meal and a dessert. This event is for ladies 6th grade and older. Due to space and supplies needed, the class will be limited to 50 people so don’t delay in signing up! Please bring a large mixing bowl, cutting board, and knife for your own use. A $5 donation is appreciated at the door (but not required). This will be a fun night of fellowship!

Men’s Bible Study

The Wednesday night Men’s Bible study will be starting the book of Acts on April 16. Men, if you aren’t involved in a Bible study, this would be a great time to start. They meet in room 112 (downstairs, across from the water fountains) from 6:30-8pm.

BCMD Men’s Conference

On May 17th, the BCMD is hosting a Men's Conference at Riva Trace Baptist Church in Davidsonville, MD. The theme is "A Man After God's Own Heart." The cost is $30. If you are interested, here is a link about it: https://bcmd.org/event/mens-conference-2025/
