Weekly Update, October 17th, 2025

Hi Church,

We’re excited about our annual Harvest Fest tomorrow from 11am-1pm. It’s still not too late if you want to volunteer or invite a friend to join us! This Sunday I’ll begin a new sermon series on the New Testament book of James. It is a very powerful and relevant book that calls us to a total devotion to God.

Men’s Ministry Kick-off Campfire

Men’s Ministry is back! Join us for an evening of fellowship as we kick off a new series of events in Men’s Ministry. We will grill out, play games, and worship together around the firepit. We’ll also be discussing upcoming activities for our Men’s Ministry related to fellowship, service and outreach. The event is for men ages 18 and older. Please sign up using this link: Campfire, in the church app, or at the Connect Center.

Ladies Friendsgiving

We’re so thankful for friends who feel like family! Invite a friend and join us on Nov. 1 at 12pm for a Ladies Friendsgiving! We’ll have soups, chilis, and dessert all while fellowshipping with friends. We are asking everyone to help by bringing a soup, chili, a topping, or dessert. Please sign up using this link: Ladies Friendsgiving, in the church app or at the Connect Center.

Parents, before the hustle & bustle of the holiday season, we would love to bless you with an evening of free childcare so you can enjoy quality time with your spouse! Check-in will begin at 5:30pm. Kids that are newborn through 13 years old are welcome to attend. Pizza and drinks will be provided for dinner, and kids will have time for games, crafts, and a movie! We will be showing the movies The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (6 yrs and older) and The Star (5 years and younger). Pick up time is by 8pm. Registration for this event is required as there is limited space. Register using this link Parents Night Out, in the church app, or at the Connect Center.

We have 33 children registered so far and need lots of volunteers! If you are able to help, please sign up using this link: Parents Night Out Volunteers, in the church app or at the Connect Center.

Harvest Fest

Harvest Fest is tomorrow! Invite your neighbors, friends, and family! There will be a petting zoo, dunk tank, axe throwing, bounce house, carnival games, facepainting, Cake Walk, food, drinks, and more! This event is an incredible opportunity to bless our community, share God’s love, and create lasting memories for families. Join us tomorrow from 11am-1pm.

Business Meeting

Important information! Our next business meeting is this Wednesday at 6pm in room 102. If you have not submitted your feedback on the 5 chapters of the personnel manual, please do that as soon as possible. We will be voting on chapters 4, 6, 7, 9, and 11 of the personnel manual. Please pick up your copies at the Connect Center, review them, and send any feedback, comments, or questions to a committee member. You may also speak to them in person. Members, please plan to attend the meeting if at all possible.

Veterans Day Video Tribute

Sandy McCarthy is updating our video tribute to the service men and women of our church. If you are serving or have served in the military, please email a photo (in uniform, if possible) to Sandy McCarthy or the church office (office@weemscreek.com) by Nov. 3rd. Please reach out to her if you need to update a previous submission.

Truth Rising Movie

Truth Rising isn’t just a documentary – it’s a call to action at a critical time in our culture. As faith, identity, and morality are being redefined, this documentary exposes the civilizational moment we are living in. Through powerful stories and expert insights, it reveals how ordinary people can make an extraordinary impact by boldly choosing courage over fear. As the world redefines truth, Truth Rising offers clarity, courage, and a Christ-centered path forward. This movie will be shown at Weems Creek on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 6pm in the worship center. Mark your calendars!

Sunday School Start Time

As a reminder, all Sunday morning Bible study classes begin at 10am and end at 10:45am. This creates greater consistency in our schedule and alleviates some of the confusion for our visitors. You are still encouraged to arrive by 9:45am for a time of fellowship before the lesson starts at 10am. If you are not part of a class, there’s no time like the present!

Blessings!

Pastor Bryan
