Weekly Update, October 3rd, 2025
Hi Church,
This week we wrap up the sermon series on the Nicene Creed. I hope you have enjoyed diving into some essential truths of the faith and the history behind the Nicene Creed. We need to know God as he has revealed himself in Scripture, not according to our own making or popular culture. If you are interested in looking further into the Nicene Creed, here are a couple of great resources: thenicenecreed.org/ and Gavin Ortlund’s video – “The Nicene Creed: Every Word Explained”
Moms in Prayer
Moms in Prayer will begin meeting this Sunday at 5pm in the Student Ministry room. Join us for a no commitment first week and see if the group is right for you! Moms in Prayer offers a simple, guided format that takes the stress out of praying in a group. They will walk through the prayer sheet and explain the format. Please bring your phone as you will need it to access the prayer guide. For questions, please contact Angela Sims (angela.rivers.sims@gmail.com)
Harvest Fest
Harvest Fest is just 2 weeks away! Invite your neighbors, friends, and family! There will be a petting zoo, dunk tank, axe throwing, bounce house, carnival games, facepainting, Cake Walk, food, drinks, and more!
We still need volunteers to make this a successful outreach to our community. Here’s how you can serve: donate individually wrapped candy & treats to be given out at the stations, donate baked goods for the Cake Walk, join the Chili Cook-off (bring your best recipe and some friendly competition!), judge the Chili Cook-off, help distribute food & drinks throughout the event, supervise games and crafts to bring fun to the kids and families, paint faces, set up, and clean up. This event is an incredible opportunity to bless our community, share God’s love, and create lasting memories for families. Will you join us on Oct. 18? The event is from 11am-1pm. There is a bin in the atrium for candy and treat donations.
Men’s Ministry Kick-off Campfire
Men’s Ministry is back! Join us for an evening of fellowship as we kick off a new series of events in Men’s Ministry. We will grill out, play games, and worship together around the firepit. We’ll also be discussing upcoming activities for our Men’s Ministry related to fellowship, service and outreach. The event is for men ages 18 and older. Please sign up using this link: Campfire, in the church app, or at the Connect Center.
Business Meeting
Important information! Our next business meeting will be Oct. 22 at 6pm in room 102. We will be voting on chapters 4, 6, 7, 9, and 11 of the personnel manual. Please pick up your copies at the Connect Center, review them, and send any feedback, comments, or questions to a committee member. You may also speak to them in person. The meeting discussion will be based on comments received prior to the meeting. Please submit your feedback as soon as possible so the team can meet and review the feedback before the meeting.
Sunday School Start Time
Beginning Oct. 12, all Sunday morning Bible study classes will begin at 10am and end at 10:45am. This will create greater consistency in our schedule and alleviate some of the confusion for our visitors. You are still encouraged to arrive by 9:45am for a time of fellowship before the lesson starts at 10am. If you are not part of a class, this will be a great week to start!
Prayer for Revival
Join us on Oct. 9 at 11am in the Student Ministry room as we pray for continued revival in our nation. God is doing a mighty work among young men and women. Let’s be vigilant to pray for their salvation and for them to be bold with the Gospel. Also, that the ripple effect would bring widespread revival in our nation.
