In the community, For the community

Its cars in a row in the parking lot overflowing with candy. Its witty, cute themed trunks that will drive us to and from Pinterest. Its Moon Bounces, its food, its dune buggy and Bearcat rides. But Trunk or Treat is more than just a Fall event; it is a way for us to be a church in our community that is for our community. One Saturday every Fall this free, family-friendly event rolls around with candy, games, food, and fun. This year, we are excited to welcome our local West Annapolis Fire Station, the Maryland State Police and Backpack Buddies at Germantown Elementary School to the festivities in addition to Chick-Fil-A as we together seek the flourishing of our community and the families in it. We hope to see you Saturday, October 29 from 2-5pm at Weems Creek!

What is Trunk or Treat?

For Trunk or Treat, people gather and park their cars in a row in the parking lot. The trunks are decorated with fun, exciting themes like Star Wars, Legos, Lord of the Rings, sports and even a giant Cookie Monster! There is also a small, fun mini-game at the trunk as well as candy for the kids who come by and play the game. Basically, the event provides a safe, family-friendly environment like a centralized trick or treat.

A Free Event with Food at a Nominal Cost for a Great Cause

This year we excited to welcome Backpack Buddies at Germantown Elementary School to Trunk or Treat. Jill and Mary from Backpack Buddies will be at the event helping us out by selling hot dogs, snacks, chips and drinks at a very nominal cost. All of the proceeds from the food sales will go to benefit Backpack Buddies at Germantown Elementary, a program at the school that provides food for children over the weekend who would otherwise show up on Monday hungry. So bring a couple of bucks, buy a hot dog, and make a real difference in the life of a child at Trunk or Treat!

Games and More

There is going to be inflatable games for kids of all ages! A custom built dune buggy will be roaring up and down the grounds with passengers hanging on tight and because of our partnership with the PG County Police Department, this year a SWAT Bearcat will be making an appearance and giving rides. Your kids won't just be getting candy this year, they'll be on a SWAT Team for the afternoon! We also are excited to have a fire truck from the West Annapolis Fire Station and representatives from the Maryland State Police join us as all sorts of institutions come together to seek the flourishing of our shared community.
